About the Home Owners Association
Brandywine residents should be familiar with the Board of Directors (BOD) and our committees and the roles we have in managing the Association. The five Directors are your neighbors and are volunteers, devoting their time to manage the community and ensure community standards are met. Why would we do this? Put simply, to give back to our community and to protect the investment in our homes.
All our committees work solely at the discretion of the BOD. They can advise and do research, write documents, do the ARC duties, work on budgets and any other item that the BOD requests but do not vote or make any final decisions.
Architectural Review Committee
The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) is responsible for advising the Board of the architectural guidelines but does not enforce them. Our covenants require that all architectural and landscaping projects be approved by the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) in order to ensure that improvements will not cause standing water, water runoff problems and/or difficulty in managing our yards. If you want to make any exterior structural or landscaping change, you will need to file a ARC Submission request with the Architectural Review Committee (ARC).
This document (ARC submission form) details the architectural, design, and construction requirements, including property and landscaping requirements. The objective is to enforce a community-wide standard that will help maintain property values and keep Brandywine looking nice, just as when we first bought here. The ARC form is available on the website so you can print it or save the form on your computer.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is responsible for creating and recommending the annual budget to the Board. Their work starts in the summer and the final budget is approved by the Board in the fall and mailed to the homeowners before year end.
Grounds Committee
The Grounds Committee is responsible to communicate our community landscaping needs to our Board. The Grounds Committee advises and assists the Board of Directors by promoting, preserving and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the homeowners properties and the common areas owned and maintained by the Brandywine Homeowners Association. And encouraging the highest level of maintenance of the association’s physical assets.
